Worley Jr. celebrates $2,000 victory at SFCR.

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (June 1, 2002) Tommy Worley Jr. of Bismarck made the best of his opportunity at the St. Francois County Raceway (SFCR) and cashed it in for a $2,000 first place prize money check and double raceway points following the sprint car feature Saturday night.

The win by Worley Jr. snapped the winning streak of Timmy Montgomery of Fredericktown (at two), vaulted him closer to the top spot in points at SFCR and capped off a triple crown night.

Montgomery say right on the heels of Worley in the feature and captured second place with Ronnie Standridge taking third place, Bob Thoman fourth and Jason Hunt fifth. They were followed by Ted Adams, Danny Long, Rodger Eckhardt, Maroe Kront and Jason Keith.

Worley Jr. won the first heat with Standridge second and Montgomery third. Timmy Moss won the second heat with Marshall Skaggs second and Hunt third. Larry Dudley won the third heat with Eckhardt second and Robby Neubauer third. Worley Jr. won the trophy dash with Standridge second and Montgomery third.

In the 600cc Multi class, Tommy Boyd of Farmington picked up the checkered flag in the feature with Kent Buckley second, Junior Ferguson third, Daniel Adler fourth and John "Wallbanger" Dennis fifth. They were followed by Joey Boyd, Matt Dotson, Conner Thompson, Josh Kennedy and Brian Keen.

Tommy Boyd won the first heat race with Adler second and Jimmy Bridgeman third. Joey Boyd won the second heat with Tyler Thompson second and Buckley third.

In the Hobby Stock class, Karl Francis of Fredericktown held off the challenge of Randy Forster to picked up the checkered flag in the feature. Chuck Adams finished in third place with Kenny Harris fourth and Brad Mashek fifth. They were followed by Doug Savage, Jeremy Greenwalt, Lawrence Schaffer, Chris Boyd and Billy Mayberry. Francis won the first heat race with Harris second and Schaffer third. Forster won the second heat with Adams second and Mashek third.

In the Modified class, Timmy Hill captured the win in the feature with Billy Smith second, Danny Resinger third, Pete Koenig fourth and Tommy Worley Sr. fifth. They were followed by Ryan Gegg, Matt Zimmerly, Bob Waterhouse, Kenny Kennedy and Kevin Gegg.

Hill won the first heat race with Jeff Lebaube second and Resinger third. Worley Sr. won the second heat with Koenig second and Dan Zander third. Brent Thompson won the third heat with Kevin Gegg second and Kennedy third. Eric Mabery won the "B" main with Zimmerly second and Waterhouse third.

There will be no racing action at the St. Francois County Raceway Saturday due to the annual Country Days concert. Racing will resume on Saturday night, June 15th. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7:30. For more information phone (573) 756-1734.
