Butch Miller; Davin Scites tapped as drivers
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 2004) - - SS Racing Owner and President Ken Smith announced today that his team and veteran ASA driver and 2002 Champion Butch Miller and new teammate ASA winner Davin Scites will be joining the ASA Late Model Series for 2004.
"I'm excited about this opportunity, I raced Late Models full-time before moving up to ASA and actually got a few late Model races in over the off season in '03," said Scites.
"The more I get behind the wheel in any series, the more I learn," continued the West Virginia native
ASA Touring announced the formation of the ASA Late Model series at the end of 2003 as the ASA Touring series came to an end. As 2004 is just around the corner the Late Model series is taken on big names to start the year off, along with incredible talent to say the least.
"This is an opportunity, that I look for to not only to give my drivers extra seat time but to build on a program that SS Racing started in 2003 and that is our Driver Development Program," stated President of SS Racing Ken Smith "I think this series will add momentum to the ASA Touring series," added Smith.
Known for his short track talent, and expertise ASA Champion Butch Miller will join rising star Scites on the limited schedule in addition to running full time in the American Speed Association National Series in 2004.
"This will be exciting!," said Miller "I'm a racer and anytime I have the chance to drive a race car I look forward to the challenge," replied the 2002 Champ. "This series is going to be very competitive, there are some young guns that have a lot of talent that will be taking this series seriously to show what they have in order to keep moving up the ranks," mentioned Miller.
