The cars will run 300 laps with minimal caution flags. They will go left for the first 1/3 of the race, then turn and go right for another 1/3 and turn back to go left again. These races are exciting and enjoyable to watch. Besides, who wants to watch a rerun on TNN when they can see real action?

Local drivers as well as Enduro series regulars will be on hand. South Sound Speedway Street Stock drivers, Mike Saylors and David Knittle will be there along with former track champion, Ray Wallace all of Olympia. Mike Mikelson, the Series Champion is slated to appear.

Although final point standings were unavailable, we know that front runners Dan Walker, Tim Gosch, John Masterman, and Jerry Pinch will all be there. Other regulars are Shawn Zurfluh, Bob Dietrich, Mike Buzard, and Pete Peterson. James Brown Jr. is also returning after taking a few years off.

South Sound Speedway is located off exit 88 of I-5. On January 1st, 2002, gates open at 12:30 with racing at 2:00. Tickets are $10 for adults. You can check out all results as well as 2002 plans for the track at www.southsoundspeedway.com.
