Mooresville, NC (September 7, 2001) - Memphis, Tennessee is the home of the "King of Rock & Roll" Elvis Presley! And with that in mind, American Speed Association rookie Matt Sielsky and his sponsor MOMO Performance came up with an idea, "Let's have the spirit of Elvis on our side for this race." So, leave it up to one of the more charismatic drivers in ASA and a company that is always on the cutting edge, to produce a drivers suit fit for a king, "King Elvis" that is. Sielksy will wear his Elvis driving suit in Sunday's Rev Up 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park.

"In the spirit of Graceland and the whole town of Memphis, I'll be looking a lot like Elvis this weekend," says the 24-year-old Sielsky. "MOMO said they could do it, so I thought we'd have some fun with the whole thing. MOMO even gave me a pair of nice blue suede driving shoes to go along with it. Hopefully Elvis will bring our team some good luck."

Luck certainly hasn't been on Matt Sielsky's side lately. A string of "caught in the wrong place and the wrong time" situations have haunted the team recently. "It's been really trying on my confidence," explains the former open-wheel star. "I know that I can get the job done. I'm the same driver that went out and won five karting championships and won a contract with Barry Green (CART Series owner). I know people say this a lot, but things just haven't gone our way at all and that's the truth. That's part of racing, and I understand that. It's been difficult, but I'm not going to give up because I know if we work hard enough, things are going to pay off for us."

The Sielksy Racing team is ready to "Rock & Roll" at Memphis Motorsports Park this weekend for a good reason. The crew tested at the facility last week. But more importantly, this will mark the first time this team (with its current members) will return to a track where they tested to race.

"We have been able to do a lot of testing lately, but it hasn't been at the tracks we've been running at," explains Sielsky. "With this group of people (new Crew Chief Dave Leiner & the rest of the team), we have never raced at the specific track where we tested at. We had a good session here last week, and I think we have a good, fast MOMO racecar."

"Plus I'll have Elvis riding with me. If I can pull off a good finish, we'll be singing Elvis tunes all night in Memphis."

Despite missing one race earlier in the season to make adjustments with the team, Sielsky sits 18th in the ASA National Championship point standings and is sixth in the rookie standings. Sielsky has one top-10 finish in 2001. He scored a ninth-place finish at Concord Motorsport Park in May.

You can watch "Young Gun" Matt Sielsky in this week's Rev Up 200 live on TNN at 2pm EST on Sunday September 9, 2001.
