FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (May 11, 2002) The 2002 Racing Association of Mini Stocks (RAMS) Point Series finally was able to complete its first full event Saturday afternoon at the SEMO Motor Speedway in Sikeston, Mo. and it was Jathon Cruse of Farmington coming away as the feature winner.

Cruse drew the poll position and made it stand up for both a heat race and feature win. Keith Buckley of Farmington finished a close second place with Keith Buckley of Park Hills third, Marty Boyer of Potosi fourth and Joe Buckley of Park Hills fifth.

The win by Cruse completed an extremely impressive weekend for him as he participated in a total of five races and he won them all. Friday night at the Fredericktown Raceway, the new "Home of the RAMS," Cruse was a triple crown winner (winning his heat, the trophy dash and the feature). Jeremy Greenwalt was a distant second place finisher in the feature event at Fredericktown Friday night.

The RAMS Point Series will continue Wednesday night at the Fredericktown Raceway with the Spring Spectacular. The RAMS Mini Stocks will be part of the show that will also feature the UMP Late Models, the IMCA style Modifieds and the 600cc Multis. Gates will open Wednesday night at 4 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.

The RAMS will continue their regular season of racing at the Fredericktown Raceway on Friday night along with other Friday night regulars, UMP Late Models, Pro Streets and Pure Streets.

The RAMS Mini Stocks are four-cylinder, rear-wheel drive cars and light trucks.
