Sandusky, Ohio - Rains began falling in the Sandusky area just past 1:00 pm on Saturday and continued all afternoon. At 5:30 pm, amidst a heavy, steady downpour, a flooded parking lot, track and pit area, ISMA officials met to determine the fate of the 23rd annual Hy-Miler Nationals. It was decided to try again tomorrow, Sunday, July 30 as most drivers and fans already were committed to motels and or camping for the evening.

Gates will open at 10 am on Sunday with warm-ups to begin as soon as possible. Qualifying will begin approximately at noon with the 100-lap Hy-Miler Nationals to begin approximately at 2 pm, weather pending of course. If the rains continue Sunday, a new date for the Nationals will be announced at a further time.

Ohioan Doug Saunier pulled off a win in the Friday night ISMA preliminary 40-lap event. Amherst, Ohio veteran Dave Shullick Sr. is the defending Hy-Miler champion and may be driving the Bill Kovacs 77 in this year's prestigious event.
