SUSSEX, Wis. - The ASA ACDelco Series had a well deserved week off of competition after concluding an exhausting nine-week run of races. But driver Ricky Johnson is anxious to return to action in this weekend's ASA event at the Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) after spending his off week testing there and at the Winchester Speedway, where the series heads to next weekend.
"We tested at IRP and it went fairly well," Johnson said. "We were about third fastest of the cars that were testing with us. We still have a few adjustments to make, but the Nationwide Auction Systems/WorldBestBuy.com team will get those worked out for the race. I have a new teammate this weekend. My teammate, Mark E. Dismore, is going to have his dad, Mark A., join us. I'm looking forward to running with him. It should be an exciting event for Herzog Motorsports."
The Indianapolis event is being held the same weekend the Formula One Series will visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, just a short drive from IRP. "This is a big race for the ASA Series, with the huge following carrying over from the Formula One event at the Brickyard," Johnson continues. "There will be a large crowd on hand for our race and I hope we are able to take the Nationwide Auction Systems/WorldBestBuy.com Chevrolet to victory lane."
Johnson maintains his top-10 positioning in the ASA ACDelco Series point standings, following his 13th place finish at the Memphis Motorsports Park two weeks ago. Johnson has captured 11 top-15 finishes in the 17 events the ASA Series has held.
