RACE CITY MOTORSPORT PARK Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Gibbons wins big rig thunder.

Mike Gibbons first saw Race City last June and his introduction was a rough one that sent Gibbons home to Rochester, WA with a smashed-up Big Rig and a broken wrist. Tonight, Gibbons held off a last lap challenge by Cory Riplinger and won his first Big Rig main by about a foot. Riplinger, of Calgary, earned enough points this evening to win the Can-Am Big Rig championship a touring series racing in Alberta, BC and the American NorthWest.

A crowd of over 5,600 braved a rainy start to the evening in order to watch the largest field of racing Big Rigs ever to run the Can Am series.

Gary Lister continued his domination of the Mac's Legends Cars event with a flag to flag win. Blair Snow of Calgary was the Street Stock winner.
