St. Johns, Pa. . . . . . . . Pocono Mountain Speedway Short track Program moves to Saturday night at 6:00 P.M. this week. See the Modifieds, Late Models, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks. Will Eric Beers be able to get his fifth win of the season, or will Russ Frantz, Tim Santee, Michael Adams, C.J. Jones, John Markovic or one of the many talented Modified drivers get their turn in the Fairway Chevrolet Victory Lane? Will Frank Reekes, Jr. get by Bruce Long this week after the two engaged in an epic battle during last week's Street Stock Feature? Does anyone have enough for Barry Gommer in the Late Models? Be there Saturday night at 6:00 P.M. and find out yourself.

The Summer Heat Racing Series season opener is this Sunday at 12 noon. This week's Summer Heat show consists of 250cc microsprints, go-karts and slingshots on the 1/3-mile asphalt oval. Minicups will also run during the Summer Heat Racing Series Season. This past Saturday, Microsprint driver, Randy West was timed with a 13.4 second lap, which equals 89.5 MPH on the 1/3-mile oval. That is faster than most modifieds get around the track. In a mock race, the go-karts were drafting and passing, taking turns in the lead. A triple layer foam retaining wall system will be in place to protect drivers and cars from the guardrail for this series. For more information on rules and schedules, contact Kevin Balliet at (570) 636-0521, racer@ccomm.com or visit www.poconomountainspeedway.com. Adults and kids will be well represented in all divisions. Don't just watch the races - become part of it.
