Pocono Mountain Speedway will host a Race of Champions Qualifier Day on Sunday, May 14th.
The Race of Champions has long been a household name in Modified racing and over the years has added divisions such as the Late Models, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks and Small Block Modifieds to name to few. By hosting a Race of Champions Qualifier, Pocono Mountain Speedway will be giving the winners of the qualifier divisions an advantage at the Race of Champions to be held at Oswego Speedway in October. Over the years many drivers from the Northeast Pennsylvania track have represented their home track well. The quality of racing at Pocono Mountain Speedway will prepare the drivers for what they will encounter at this prestigious event.
The date of Sunday, May 14th was picked to give drivers from many other areas an opportunity to participate in what should be one of the major events in the early part of the season. The Modified Race is open to all types of Modifieds from many areas; NASCAR tour, Penn-Jersey Modifieds, SK Modifieds and New York State Modifieds.
The Modified Race at Pocono Mountain Speedway on Sunday, May 14th will be 50 LAPS and the winner will take home $2,000.
