Oswego, NY --- A book signing party for "The Pine" will be held 7 p.m. Thursday night, December 18, 2003 at The Front Door Tavern in Oswego.

Andy Fusco and George Caruso Jr., authors of the new hit biography of the legendary Jim Shampine, will be on hand to greet fans and to sign copies of their book.

A full night of fun honoring the great Jim Shampine is planned, according to The Front Door's owner Paul Stepien. Movies of some of Jimmy's greatest races, culled from the collections of Mike Gibson and Don Bartlett, will be shown on The Front Door's four screens. And weather permitting, collector Jim Paternoster will have one of Jimmy's restored race cars on display.

The late Jim Shampine is the winningest driver in Oswego Speedway history, massing 87 supermodified victories and five modified wins before his 1982 death. He was also an accomplished dirt track modified and sprint car driver and is slated for induction in the DIRT Motorsports Hall of Fame in May 2004.

"The Pine" has a list price of $19.95 and is available from Speedway Press in Oswego.

The Front Door Tavern is located at the corner of East 10th and Utica Streets in Oswego.
