Chardon, Ohio (January 16, 2001) The ACDelco / Iceman Super Car Series has signed Shooters on the Water, one of Ohio's premier restaurants, to u two-year sponsorship deal beginning in 2001.
"We are thrilled that Shooters has joined the Iceman Series family of sponsors," commented Iceman Series Director, Jim Hennessy. "When Shooters first approached us they wanted the title sponsorship (a position long held by ACDelco) but once we explained our situation, and got creative, Shooters realized they could still meet their objectives through race sponsorship, contingency awards and contributions to our points fund."
"Everything about the Iceman Series is appealing to us," said Roger Loecy, Shooter's owner. "I'm really looking forward to Shooter's being part of the ACDelco Iceman Super Car Series."
The agreement with Shooters is unique. Shooters has agreed that should ACDelco's position change, and the series title sponsorship become available during the term of the agreement, that Shooters will step up financially, and fill that role.
The Iceman Series which last year came under new management has recently re-signed sponsors Goodyear and Penske Racing Shocks as well as confirmed a race at the brand new, Lake Erie Speedway, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
2001 marks the Iceman Series 14th season and will play host to 14 events across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Indiana featuring the regions top late model competitors in action packed competition.
