New Egypt, NJ (Nov. 5) -- New Egypt Speedway will officially put a bow on its second successful season as a dirt track on Saturday, February 5, 2000, when the Central Jersey raceway hosts its year-end awards banquet in action-packed Atlantic City, again at the fabulous Bally'€™s Park Place and Boardwalk.

Racers and fans are still raving about the track'€™s inaugural awards affair under the Grosso family’s management. Last year’s five-star event included a full hour of private cocktails and lavishly presented hors d’oeuvres before guests were escorted to the huge dining and ballroom to enjoy a sit-down dinner featuring filet mignon and shrimp and white-glove service. Following dinner and award ceremonies, banquet attendees danced to the music of a live seven-piece band and wound up the evening at Bally’s gaming tables.

And the February 5 encore already looks to reprise last year'€™s rave reviews. Once again, your black-tie Masters of Ceremony will be track announcers “Pistol” Pete Wortman and N'ck “Pit 'atrol” Leach, who will oversee the distribution of New Egypt'€™s $50,000 in point monies. Honorees this night will include 1999 Modified track champion Billy Pauch, who will be collecting a $10,000 check for his year-long efforts; Sportsman champ Bob Worthington, who’ll pick up $3,000; and Pat Conaway, topping the Street Stock point chase to the tune of $1,500. In all, 30 drivers are in line for a piece of the largest all-cash point fund offered by any independent speedway in the entire Northeast.

Banquet tickets are $75 per person (adults only, 18 and older). Seating is limited to 700, and tickets are being sold on a first-come-first-served basis. For ticket order forms, call 908-281-0171. Order forms will also be available at the track office from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the race car flea market to be held at the speedway on Saturday, November 13. Deadline for banquet ticket orders is December 15.

New Egypt Speedway has also arranged a special $99 room rate at Bally'€™s Park Place for all banquet attendees. Call Bally'€™s directly at 800-225-5977 for further information.
