Pablo, MT -- On March 12th, 2001 the Mission Valley Auto Racers, Inc. held its annual elections for the coming two year terms. The newly elected board members are Chuck Swope out of Hot Springs, Chuck Morigeau of Pablo, and re-elected board member Wade Shepard of Charlo. They join current board of directors Brad Lee of Pablo, Carl Nordberg of Polson, Lynn Olsen of Pablo and Tracy Burland of Ronan.

President Neal Talsma of Ronan, ran unopposed and was reinstated to a two year term, while the Vice President position was won by Stefanie Nordberg of Polson - the first ever female to hold office or board position (other than secretary) in the 30+ year history of the Mission Valley Auto Racers, Inc. Ms. Nordberg's father, Duane Olsen was MVAR's first club president when the organization was incorporated in 1971. Raeann Campbell of Polson was appointed as recording secretary.

2001 at Mission Valley Speedway also brings with it improvements to the West end of the track at turns 1&2. Equipment tires that used to border the top of the turn have been removed and an eight-foot flat section that moves into a 10 to 12 foot dirt berm was put in their place. This should be less damaging to cars that get too high and wide around those corners, now causing only minimal damage if any. Mission Valley Speedway would like to thank the Crockett Family, Treasure State Concrete, Timberlane Auto, Plum Creek Lumber Company, Robert Ragland, John Logan, Brian Cook, Tony Croft, Gene Widgrin, Pete Zieler, and Brad Lee for getting the job done!

Also added this year is a new entry-level class of cars called the Bomber 4's. This is limited to 1970 to current year stock compact front or rear wheel cars with a maximum 2.6-liter engine. Minimal race prep will be allowed, please see our website for complete rules at www.missionvalleyspeedway.com
