Mike Lemke Hired as ASA Midwest Tour Tech Director

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (October 19, 2006) -- The American Speed Association's Midwest Tour is proud to welcome Mike "Lumpy" Lemke as the ASA Midwest Tour Technical Director. He is well known in the racing world with experience in tech inspecting at Norway Speedway (MI), Wisconsin International Raceway, Slinger Speedway (WI), and Madison International Speedway (WI), as well as with traveling series including ARTGO, NASCAR, MARS, Mid-American Stock Car Series, and the ASA Minnesota Late Model Challenge Series. Lemke has been involved in auto racing since 1972, learning the "ins and outs" of the sport in Wisconsin's Fox Valley. He did much of the testing and helped develop the ACE engine which is used in the upper Midwest and currently is working on a spec GM Schwanke engine to be used in racing.

"I consider Mike an outstanding person for this position. He relates well to the competitors as well as understanding the overall business of racing. He is professional, through, honest and understands that this tour will be a challenge yet fun," said Stephen Einhaus, Vice President/ PR and Event Director.

"We are working very diligently to get the rules package finalized and out as soon as we can," stated Lemke, who is working with a group of experts in the industry to do everything possible to make sure all of the Upper Midwest Super Late Model Rules have been updated properly. "The thought is we want to get it right the first time!"
