LAKELAND, Fla. (March 6, 2000) -- When the American Speed Association (ASA) visits Lakeland, Fla., for the season-opening BFGoodrich Tires 200 at USA International Speedway, Michael Holley Chevrolet will be on-hand as the "Official Chevrolet Truck Dealer" of the ASA ACDelco Series.

"We think this is a very good opportunity for us," said Fleet Manager and Public Relations Director Bill Sangster. "We work real closely with USA International Speedway and both Mr. Holley and myself think this is a great thing for all of us involved. In fact, we would like to see it happen again next year and beyond."

Sangster lived in the Midwest and followed ASA before moving down to Florida. "Michael (Holley) helps out the track a lot with sponsorships. We like to see the track and all of its races go well, because in turn that is more for us."

As part of being the "Official Chevrolet Truck Dealer" of the BFGoodrich Tires 200, Lakeland residents will be able to check out the #28 EMAS Monte Carlo of sophomore driver Tim Taylor at the dealership on Thursday, March 23 from 5-7 pm.

"We are really pleased to have Michael Holley Chevrolet on board for our event at USA International Speedway," said ASA Promotions Director Eric Bunn. "It is a class act and have shown considerable interest in being associated with the great stock car racing that ASA puts on."

Any fans who test drive a Chevrolet Truck during the promotion will also pick up a pair of tickets to the BFGoodrich Tires 200 on March 26. In addition, Michael Holley Chevrolet will have a Chevrolet Truck display all weekend at USA International Speedway.

With ASA adopting a new, two-day format at its races in 2000, practice, qualifying and a 50-lap qualifying race will take place on Saturday, March 25. The season's first race is set to go green at noon (Eastern) on Sunday, March 26. The event will be telecast live by TNN Sports. Tickets for the race are $20 and $25, and are available by calling ASA toll-free at 1-888-ASA-1020.
