Rod Cordon steps up to challenge for Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title in 2005.

The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts has attracted interest from all over the United States as drivers from all corners of the country have their eyes fixated on the three-year-old series. The Show-Me State of Missouri will see a vast array of representation as Rod Cordon has stepped up to the plate for the 2005 season and has announced his plans on running the entire 2005 schedule for the series as he will pilot a Four Taurus owned by Tammy Drake and Kerry Grindstaff of D & G Racing out of Kansas City MO.

"We plan on running the entire 2005 season and challenge for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the year title." Said the Independence MO driver when asked about the upcoming season. "We'll also run some at I-70 (MO) Speedway again with the Late Model and we'll run some dirt modifieds stuff at Lakeside (KS) Speedway in the Kansas City area as well."

Rod has been racing for 14 seasons; in 2002 he won 10 out of 18 races on his way to the points championship in the modified division at I-70 Speedway. In 2003, his rookie season in a Late Model, he had 15 starts with three second place finishes and 10 top ten feature finishes. In 2004, Rod finished 11th in the final points chase at I-70. Cordon also widened his variety of running different cars as last season he branched out to run a limited dirt schedule in a Modified.

During the 2005 season, Cordon will run his Ford Taurus throughout the 2005 season with the goal of running for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year championship.
