Jim Ross to run a partial ASA Late Model Series Schedule in 2005.

Former ASA National Tour driver, Jim Ross has announced his intentions of running at least a partial season with the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts. The Hawkeye state native is actively seeking sponsorship to run the full slate in 2005.

"All the travel with the National tour took its toll." Said Ross. "Without sponsorship, we can't run the full schedule unless something comes up. So as of now, we plan on running as many ASA Late Model shows as we can, otherwise we'll stay close to home and run the season in Late Models at Hawkeye Downs." Continued the Cedar Rapids IA driver. "We'll definitely be at Ft. Wayne (Baer Field Speedway) for the opener and hopefully we can do good enough and someone will see us and things will come together for the team. They deserve it; we've been together since my career started in 1991."

During his 14-year career, Ross has been running mostly at his home track of Hawkeye Downs (IA) Speedway in Cedar Rapids IA. Amongst his accomplishments include over 20 feature wins in both Late Models and Modifieds. During that time, Ross would pull double duty several times with running both cars during the same night. Jim has also seen time in the ASA National tour with his ASA debut taking place at Hawkeye Downs in September 2002, finishing in 27th position. He finished in 22nd position at Jennerstown (PA) Speedway in August 2003, marking his career best in limited appearances with the tour.

For the 2005 season, Ross is actively seeking sponsorship for his Granneman Investments owned, Chevrolet Monte Carlo to run the full 2005 schedule with the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts.
