Sportsman, Modifieds and Trucks Ring in the 1998 Racing Season at USA

Lakeland, FL -- Speedfest '98 kicks off the 1998 racing season at USA International Speedway on Saturday night January 17th. Speedfest '98 will feature the second race in the USAR Sportsman Triple Crown series for the Late Model Sportsman cars. This 100 lap grind around the 3/4 mile high banked oval includes many of the top sportsman drivers from around the southeast. Joining the sportsman cars will also be the stars and cars from the SARA Modified Series in a 35 lap shootout. The American Race Truck Series will complete the triple header evening at USA International Speedway with a 35 lap feature expecting to draw some of competitors from the Craftsman Truck Series season opener in Orlando.

An autograph session with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers, show cars and a chance to explore the history of motorsport with members of the Living Legends of Auto Racing awaits race fans in the main grandstand midway. Gates open at 3 PM Saturday afternoon and the 1998 racing season at USA International Speedway gets the green flag at 7PM.
