Country Joe Homes backs LaFavre Racing Teams in ASA

LAKEVILLE, MN (March 19, 2002) -- LaFavre Racing Teams owner Scott LaFavre has announced County Joe Homes has signed on as a primary sponsor for LaFavre Racing teams.

Country Joe Homes, and owner Joe Miller, will be the primary sponsor for LaFavre Racing's number 21 ASA car that will be driven by Dan Fredrickson. Country Joe Homes will serve as an associate sponsor for the number 1 LaFavre Racing ASA car driven by the 1 997 ASA Racing Series National Champion Kevin Cywinski.

"I can't tell you how much this means to our ASA program," said team owner Scott LaFavre. "We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Country Joe Homes. Good solid sponsorship is essential to any race teams success. Tecumseh and now Country Joe Homes gives the LaFavre Racing Teams organization two primary sponsors for the ASA season with Kevin (Cywinski) and Dan (Fredrickson)."

Country Joe Homes is a major real estate and home developer in the Twin Cities. The company is one of the largest of its kind in Minnesota. Its industry partners, such as Windsor Windows and Doors, will be featured on the LaFavre Racing Teams ASA cars duri ng all of the 2002 events.

"Country Joe Homes brings a new marketing dimension to our teams," said LaFavre Racing Teams Director of Operations Dick Melius. "Our plans are to market and promote Country Joe Homes and their industry partner's products. I see some great opportunities fo r Country Joe Homes, LaFavre racing and ASA for the 2002 season."

"I'm truly excited to be working with Scott LaFavre and his racing operation for the 2002 ASA season," said Joe Miller from his office in Apple Valley (MN). "I have wanted to bring Dan Fredrickson up to the ASA Racing Series from his short track program at Elko Speedway. Scott (LaFavre) and I have arranged a program that will allow me to accomplish that with Dan having the opportunity to compete for the Pat Schauer Memorial Rookie of the year title in 2002."

The 2002 ASA Racing Series will open on Sunday, March 24 at USA International Speedway in Lakeland (FL). The WJ Plemons Investments 200 presented by Jani-King event will take the green flag at 2 p.m. (Eastern) and will be televised live on TNN (The Nationa l Network). It will mark the American Speed Association's 35th season of competition.
