(October 3, 2001 - Knoxville, TN) With three top 10 finishes in UDTRA competition including one win at Green Valley Speedway in the past three events, Jimmy Mars is one of the hottest drivers on the UDTRA tour. Mars' has rallied for three series' wins in 2001 including two high profile victories at Bristol Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway.

Jimmy Mars unloaded a brand new MasterSbilt Monte Carlo when the team arrived at Green Valley Speedway for the two feature events at the 3/8-mile oval. Jimmy rolled out towards the end of the qualifying order and was one of seven drivers to break the old track record set by Ronnie Johnson back in 1996. Jimmy's two laps capped him off with the 6th fastest time out of 57 cars and followed up with a win in the second heat race to put the Parkerstores driver on the outside of the front row for the 40 lap feature event.

Jimmy wasted no time when the green flag dropped for the Friday night feature event by grabbing the lead on the first lap and went on to lead all 40 laps to pick up his third UDTRA win of the season.

"My Pro Power engine ran great, everything was flawless, and it was a great night of racing," comments Jimmy after his win. Jimmy's win gives the Wisconsin native his seventh overall win for the 2001 season.

The following night witnessed Jimmy producing a solid top-10 finish by bringing his Parkerstores Monte Carlo home in ninth place. Mars scored another top-10 finish at Atomic Motor Speedway (October 2) for the 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event by placing ninth. Jimmy's consistency over the last three UDTRA events places the "Ice Man" in 8th place in the UDTRA championship chase with two events remaining in the 2001 season.

Next up for Jimmy Mars and team is the MACS, STARS, UDTRA "Big Kahuna" events at the Rock/Allegany Speedway in Cumberland, MD. Jimmy will attempt all three events beginning with the MACS event this Thursday night.

To date this season, Jimmy has seven feature wins with 19 top-5 and 30 top-10 finishes in 53 feature starts along with two pole awards.
