America's busiest little track tackled one of it's busiest evenings as seven divisions vied for center stage on Brickyard weekend in Indianapolis.

The night kicked off with James Robertson topping the field in the Race City Auto Sales Bandoleros over Tony Sanders and points leader Mike Hadley. Indy's Rodney Smith claimed the Legends Cars 35-Lap main over series sponsor David Sutton and points leader Doug Greig.

After some preliminaries for the other classes Billy Boyer claimed his first victory in the Carmel Sod Modifieds, winning the 50-Lapper over 2-time series champ Jim Begley and Mike St. John. Series points leader Billy George came home forth while leading rookie Cynthia Sizemore snagged fifth.

Indy's Jeff Hizer completed his return to the Speedrome with a win in the Bryant's 76 Racing Fuels Late Models and was joined in the Winner's Circle by former Speedrome sponsor Jonathan Byrd. Byrd's former pilot George Sutton came home second followed by Bill Tunny, Jr.

R. J. Norton, Jr., his Olmsted Towing team have definitely found a few secrets as the held off defending champ and points leader Bruce Tunny for the closing laps of the 35-Lap figure-8 event. Wayne Arnold survived a crash in the oval feature that put him on top of another car but made repairs and took third followed by Rodney Sizemore and Fred Bear, Jr.

The Speedrome season started in the snow in March and one of the first guys through the gate was Gary Wray who finally claimed victory in the Chuck's Race Car Parts Stocks. Wray's teammate Brad Kendall was leading the field to the checkered when contact with second-place Eddie Snapp, Jr. set off a melee that sent seven cars off on wreckers including Wray, Kendall who snaked through for second and fourth-place finisher Joe Sheedy. Corey Turner and Jimmy Kirby rounded out the top five.

The Sunshine Cafe Roadrunners wrapped up the evening with Casey Victery grabbing the "A" main win and the series points lead and Chad Kerr recording his first feature win in the "B" main.

UPCOMING EVENTS - Saturday, Aug. 4 - While the Brickyard rests the action is hot at the Speedrome with the Late Models in a full card of oval racing and capped with a 50-Lap Figure-8. The Stockers face a full night of Figure-8 racing as well and the Roadrunners round out the evening with their own brand of grass roots racing. Gates open at 5PM and the racing starts at 7PM.
