The only thing Gene Morgan didn't do at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on Saturday night was sell programs. If he had, the odds are good that he would have outsold everyone else.
Morgan qualified first, won his heat race, took command of the main event on the opening lap and held off points leader Marty Ward to win.
And Morgan's pit crew won the pit crew challenge, beating the crews of Marty Ward and Brandon McCarson.
"Marty ran me until my tongue was hanging out," Morgan said. "He was right on my tail the entire race. I had a good engine tonight, and by winning the pit crew competition, I think it proves that I have the hardest-working crew at the track."
In the Late Model Stock main event, which ran 35 laps without a caution flag, Morgan and Ward were first and second, with McCarson taking over third place early from David Roberts. Brian Conner was fifth, with Kevin McCarson in sixth, Richie Croley seventh, Jamie Barbery eighth, Tyler Bob Mangum ninth, and Thomas Jackson was 10th. J
C.M. Knight had to look in his rear view mirror to to find trouble in the Super Stock main event, as he started second and took over the lead early.
But points leader Greg Dodgens spun during the race and ended up two positions behind Robby Robbins, who is second in the points.
Anthony Anders finished second, with Robbins taking third and Robin Darnell finishing fourth. Dodgens was fifth.
Dodgens now holds only a two-point edge over Robbins.
William "Red" Ables was the winner in the Street Stock main event, with Tim Sams second and Stanley Pressley third. Jimmy Mann Jr., finished fourth and Stephen "Bubba" Horton took fifth.
But Sams took a two-point lead in the points standings, as Chris Meinders, the leader going into the race, finished sixth.
In the Charger One main event; Nathan Bagwell outran Kennith Powell, and Eddie Trammell ran third. Roger Knight was the fourth-place finisher, and Gary Stokes took fifth.
In the Charger Two main event, Shane Gentry took the checkered flag, followed by Jason Morrow and Bryan Davis. Jamie Passmore was fourth, and Joel Cox was fifth.
