Walters Wins Pacific Coast Xtreme DirtCar Race at Madras

MADRAS, Ore. (May 19, 2004) -- Greg Walters won the 35-lap main event for the Pacific Coast Xtreme DirtCar Series at Madras Speedway.

The series races exclusively on the Goodyear X-400 tread compound.

Walters won after the drivers, fans and officials dodged afternoon rain showers to get the cars on the track. Jeremy Shank posted the fastest time in qualifying, 15.15 seconds. The teams had virtually no practice before time trials began.

John Duty, who won the previous PCXDCS race at Madras, finished second in the race. Shank was third, followed by Bob Jeffery and Darren Coffel.

The Madras venue has a quarter-mile racing surface.
