Benny Gordon and long time car owner Johnny Dangerfield seeks Championship title with the experience of new crew chief, Lee McCallister.

In Moncks Corner, SC about 25 miles from Charleston, East Coast Motorsports embarks the beginning of the 2003 season with some new additions. From the continuing support of long time car owner &sponsor Johnny Dangerfield, Gordon and team look forward to a few positive changes. Joining with veteran crew chief, Lee McCallister and a new 5200sq race shop facility, the team has only one goal in mind...A Championship!

McCallister signed on with Gordon and East Coast Motorsports at the beginning of the New Year, and seem to be wasting no time in getting started! The East Coast Motorsports team will be making their second trip to Phoenix International Speedway for the season opener of the Featherlite South West Tour. Gordon and McCallister made the journey last October, qualifying 4th and taking home a 10th place finish after a disappointing rear flat tire.

Gordon and Dangerfield have full confidence in McCallister being the boost that the team needs to get into victory lane. Gordon stated "I'm looking forward to great season with the leadership from veteran crew chief Lee McCallister. He brings a wealth of racing knowledge for myself and the team to learn from. We are excited about the improvements and we are looking forward to being 2003 championship contenders.

McCallister is extremely excited about becoming a part of the East Coast Motorsports team. He stated, "I think that Benny has the potential to go a long way in racing and what little bit that I can contribute, I'd be really happy to do so. I've wanted to help Benny for a while, and with this opportunity it allows me to spend more time with my family. Johnny and Benny have put 110% in this race team and I'm looking to do the same. It's going to be a great opportunity to work with Benny, Johnny and the entire East Coast Motorsports Team."

The team will carry most of its existing associate sponsors in addition to a few new ones. The engine program will remain the same under the supervision of Bob Cronan with CRD Engine Development. Auto Meter will continue their product sponsorship for the year and will host one event as the primary sponsor. McCallister is a firm believer in Penske shocks and has brought a new shock program to the team.

Gordon plans to race several different events outside the South East Tour. Beginning in February, The Winter Heat in AZ, The Yankee Doodle 100 in PA, The Cruise America in AZ, The Myrtle Beach 400 in SC and The Snowball Derby in FL. The team is ready to get the season started and by the sounds of things, they are off to a good start.
