GIBSONTON, FL - Keith Nosbisch led the first nine laps of the Hoosier 50 for Late Models at East Bay Raceway Saturday night. But most important, he led the final three laps to take home $4,000 in a first-ever event of its kind. The 24 car field was required to do a mandatory right rear tire change after 25 laps of the yellow flag filled event. Hoosier Tire rep Gene Slaughter was the Grand Marshall in celebration of his 20 years with the tire company. Four different leaders had the crowd standing the last ten laps. It was a side-by-side battle between Nosbisch and runner-up Donnie Tanner. David Schmauss was third ahead of Bill Howard and Ken Nosbisch, followed by David Simpson, Dick Rigby, Bobby Alexander Jr., Ken Rutledge and Dan Darnell.

Johnny Gilbertson won his sixth sprint car feature, avoiding several multi-car crashes. Sport Allen took second ahead of Joe Melnick, Roland Johnson and Red Stauffer.

The mini-stock feature winner was Mike Smith, leading all the way. In a four car battle for second, William Hampton prevailed over Devin Dixon, Don Day and Scotty Williams. The street stock feature was a four car blanket race for the first 13 laps until Terry Gay took over for his second straight win. Next were Danny Paris, Don Gansner, Jerry Lape and Mike Langshaw.
