Jeff Lane leads Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge points.

Salem, Ind. (July 31, 2002) -- Knightstown, Indiana's Jeff Lane is the leader of the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge after two of the three Sunoco Super Series events involved with the award. The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge, an award based upon three selected Sunoco Super Series events, in the three states the series will visit in 2002, began on Wednesday, July 3 at Kalamazoo Speedway were Lane recorded a 10th-place finish. The second event of the challenge was this past Saturday at Shady Bowl Speedway were Lane finished fifth. Between the two events Lane has accumulated 220 series points to lead J.R. Roahrig by two points. Joel Kauffman is currently in third with 216 followed by Matt Hagans in fourth with 211 points. Kenny Tweedy rounds out the top five with 202 points.

The Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will award the top three series drivers with the best overall finishes at the three events involved with a set of Scott Performance Ignition Wires. The final event of the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will be Sunday, September 1st at Plymouth Speedway, located in Plymouth, Indiana.
