The Hubler Group and Blake Carburetion sponsors record paying rookie award program for the Sunoco Super Series.

Salem, Ind. (March 27, 2002) – CRA Sunoco Super Series officials announced today that the Hubler Group and Blake Carburetion will sponsor a record paying Rookie Award Program for the upcoming 2002 Sunoco Super Series season. The Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie Award Program will award the highest finishing registered rookie at all 19 events on the 2002 schedule with a $100 bonus and a plaque. The second highest finishing registered rookie at all 19 events on the 2002 schedule will receive a $50 bonus.

The Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie Of The Year Award will go to the highest finishing registered rookie in the final 2002 Sunoco Super Series Championship Points. The award will consist of a $1000 bonus and a trophy from the Hubler Group, and a complete race ready carburetor from Blake Carburetion. Also included in the award package will be a late model body from Five Star Racecar Bodies, a web site design from Motorsports Image1, 1000 personnel hero cards from Hi-Performance Racing Cards, a $200 Product Certificate from RJS Racing Equipment, $100 in product from Ringers Gloves, a $100 Product Certificate from Bassett Racing Wheels, and a $100 Product Certificate from Pit Stop USA .com. In all the 2002 Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie Award Program will pay out a record $8,750 in cash and product.

This will be the fifth year that the Hubler Group has been a sponsor of the Rookie Award Program with the Sunoco Super Series. The Hubler Group is a group of auto dealerships in Central Indiana owned by Indianapolis businessman Howard Hubler.

The Sunoco Super Series is expecting another bumper crop of rookies again in 2002 lead by a strong group of Michigan drivers that includes Todd Currier, Andy Ponstein, Bobby Murany and Tim Phillips. Other drivers who have indicated they will also compete for Rookie Of The Year honors includes Galena, Ohio’s Dominic Bando, Farmersburg, Indiana’s “Coach” Glenn Andrew, and Indianapolis, Indiana’s Brian Lemmer, Tony Reed and Tom Gray.
