Salem, Ind. (September 20, 2002) - The Rug Doctor Rents Clean Sweep Award will be worth a record $3,600 for the Sunoco 150 Sunoco Super Series event this Saturday night, September 21st at Columbus Motor Speedway, if the fast qualifier can win the event. The payout would break the record for the highest payout ever for the Rug Doctor Rents Clean Sweep Award, which came last season when Junior Hanley collected $1,400 for winning the Rug Doctor Rents Clean Sweep Award on August 19th at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

After 17 Sunoco Super Series events, there have been eleven different drivers claiming Tobacco Depot Fast Qualifier Awards. 16-year-old Joel Kauffman has claimed the most Tobacco Depot Fast Qualifier Awards with four so far this season. Junior Hanley has three Tobacco Depot Fast Qualifier Awards. Bull Baker has two Tobacco Depot Fast Qualifier Awards. J.R. Roahrig, Brent Downey, Bob Holley, Bobby Parsley, Kenny Tweedy, Chet Fillip, Scott Hantz, and Evan Jackson have claimed the Tobacco Depot Fast Qualifier Award once each in 2002.

Bull Baker was the Tobacco Depot Fast Qualifier at Anderson Speedway on September 7th. Baker drew a four for the fast qualifiers inverted start. Baker was forced into the outside retaining wall on the initial start of the event. Baker's car suffered some slight damage that slowed his car somewhat. In the end, Baker managed to get a fifth place finish.

The Sunoco 150 will be the first ever Sunoco Super Series event held at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio. The event is being held in conjunction with the Main Event XV Outlaw Late Model event on Sunday, September 22. The series will establish the track qualifying record on Saturday with Tobacco Depot qualifying at 3PM Ohio time. The race program begins at 6:30PM Saturday evening, with the Sunoco 150 set to begin after several Main Event qualifying races.

With the Tobacco Depot Fast Qualifier Award of $100, the Rug Doctor Rents Clean Sweep Award of $3,600, added with the $3,100 for the winners share of the purse, the fast qualifier at Columbus Motor Speedway could have the opportunity to take home over $6,800 if he can win the Sunoco 150, which would be a series record payout for a 150 lap event.
