ATLANTA-As Joey Clanton and the echosource 83.com Pontiac move into a tie with Scott Wimmer in the Pat Schauer Memorial Rookie of the Year battle, Clanton has become more comfortable with his role and his ride.

"This is the first time I have been in a situation where I didn't do the bulk of the work on the car that I drive. That (situation) and running long distance races are the two biggest adjustments for me since joining Steve Dale Motorsports," said Clanton. "I'm learning how to race in ASA. I'm learning how to stay in contention without using up the car so we have something at the end."

Clanton, always a quick study, has also learned what to expect from his fellow competitors on the track and in the pits.

"With more than half of the season behind us, I am getting to know what the other guys on the track are going to do, and sometimes when they are going to do it," continued Clanton. "It's like anything else I've encountered - when you graduate and move to the next level, there is always a lot to learn."

"We have just posted three fourth place finishes in a row with the echosource83.com Pontiac. To overcome transmission problems and worn tires to finish fourth at Milwaukee has everyone really motivated," commented team manager Rich Bodmer. "We are looking forward to carrying this momentum into the Miller Lite 300 at the Minnesota State Fair."

The green flag for the Miller Lite 300 at the Minnesota State Fair will drop at 12:30 p.m. Central Time. TNN Sports will televise the event that will be shown at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
