(Winchester, IN): The Championship Auto Racing Series took its stock car division to the high-banked half-mile Winchester Speedway on Saturday night. The change of venue provided fans and drivers with an exciting night of cstock ar racing at the famed oval.

After qualifying and heat races, the top sixteen drivers were inverted for the 30-lap feature. Wes Bullock captured the Jasper Engines Fast Qualifier Award while series points leader Robert Amos was second quick qualifier of the night. Bullock went off from the 16th spot on the grid while Amos started 15th on the inside of row eight. The two drivers charged through the field and were challenging for the lead by the midway point of the race. Amos was able to make his way to the front of the pack with Bullock running second. On the final lap, David Potts saw a good race spoiled when a spin relegated him third to sixth.

Amos went on to take the checkers and strengthen his hold on the series points chase. The win was his fourth of the season. Bullock held on for second place followed by Brandon Fagin, Tim Salyers, and Stuart Quackenbush. Dave Potts, Brent Berry, Dave Bussie, Chad Warner and Time Ewers rounded out the top ten. Heat winners were Amos and Bullock.

CARS will return to Indianapolis Raceway Park on Saturday, June 29th for its second 100-lap feature event of the season. For more information, call toll-free (866) 398-CARS or visit the CARS website at www.champautoracingseries.com.
