FLORIDA'S BRONSON MOTOR SPEEDWAY RE-UPS ASA RACING MEMBER TRACK

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 28, 2006) -- Mike Cope is one of the most unique men in motorsports. Some fans will recognize him as a hard-charging race car driver with a long list of wins to his credit. Other fans will see him as the owner of Bronson (Fla.) Motor Speedway, the latest track to sign with the ASA Racing Member Track Level 2 program for the 2006 season.

"There are several changes we made from last year. Like any new business, Bronson Motor Speedway is a constant work in progress," said Cope who enters his sixth year of ownership.

Among the most noticeable changes is a completely revamped schedule.

"We are always trying to find new and innovative ways to keep our facility busy," Cope explained. "But we are business people who have to look at our area and what can be accomplished. We will change whenever we feel the need for the good of the sport is at stake. For that reason, we felt it was a good time to cut back on the rigorous schedule we have attempted to maintain over the last 5 years and concentrate on a rebuilding of the facility with a smarter and more condensed racing schedule."

"I am very supportive of what Dennis (Huth) is doing (with the ASA Racing Member Track program)," Cope said of his decision to renew Bronson Motor Speedway's membership. "Dennis is a man of his word. He did what he said he was going to do, and I think the ASA brand still has lots of power. I will do what I can to support the ASA Member Track program; I believe in it that much."

Fans will also notice several facility improvements, which have been a major goal of Mike and Jane Cope. The track lighting, grandstand improvements and new roofs to the concession stand so that they can keep out of the Florida sunshine and stay cooler while patronizing the facility. The bathrooms have also been remodeled creating a better atmosphere for families.

Bronson Motor Speedway has one of the longest seasons among the short tracks, starting on Feb. 19 and running through Nov. 19 comprising of racing and non-racing events for 2006. For more details on the facility or schedule, visit the track's Web site at www.bronsonmotorspeedway.com or telephone (352) 486-2763.

"Thanks to his background, Mike Cope is one of the most unique people in short track promotions," said Dennis Huth, owner of the ASA Racing Member Track Program. "He is also someone I've had the opportunity of knowing for many years and have a tremendous amount of respect for. Both he and his wife Jane have devoted so much to this industry -- we are proud at ASA to have them onboard the ASA Member Track alliance through our Member Track program."

"There is strength in numbers and short track promoters across the country need to work together for better power. The ASA Racing Member Track program is a great tool for this direction. Plus, it gives my competitors another level of management to go to when issues need to be resolved if we cannot do it on our own to everyone's satisfaction," Cope added.

The ASA Racing Member Track program is under the ownership of Racing Speed Associates.
