ALAN JOHNSON WINS MAIN EVENT PLUS TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP BY JUST ONE POINT AT BREWERTON SPEEDWAY

BREWERTON, NY...Alan Johnson won only his second DIRT Big Block Modified feature race of the season last Friday at Brewerton Speedway. But, it was good enough to give the Jeff Rudalavage owned, Native Poker sponsored team the 2006 Brewerton Speedway Track Championship by just one point over Billy Decker. Johnson claimed $2,200 for the 40-lap victory which led the way to his fourth season championship at the D-shaped DIRT Demon.

Tony Buffa jumped out to the early lead at the start of the Whittaker's Trophy Auto Sales DIRT Big Block Modified main event from the pole starting position. Buffa only led one circuit, as Tom Sears took command of the field on lap two. Sears led a long portion of the event and would lead through lap-18. Tim Fuller took the top spot away from Sears on lap-19.

Fuller also enjoyed a long stay at the front of the field as he would lead through lap-34. It was on lap-35 when Alan Johnson took the lead away from Fuller. In the final five circuits Johnson was able to hold off the challenges by Fuller to earn the victory and the track title. Fuller held on for second with Danny Johnson, Chuck Bower and Billy Decker completing the top five feature finishers.

Sam Reakes IV won his first ever 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race last Friday night. Russ Hefti, Roy Bresnahan, Joey Williams and Jim Larock finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Hefti led the opening 16-laps of the event from the outside pole starting position. Reakes was finally able to take the top spot away from Hefti on lap-17 and then held on for the popular victory.

Dale Caswell won his fifth 20-lap IMCA Modified feature race of the season last Friday night. Kevan Cook, Johnny Hill, Rich Keller and Bill Anderson Sr. finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Johnny Hill earned his second IMCA Modified Track Championship by virtue of his third place finish. Caswell made the winning move past Hill on lap six.

Tim Devendorf claimed his third straight ESDCA Mod Lite Track Championship behind his fifth 20-lap feature win of the 2006 season. Mike Isabell, Darren Austin, Lowell Zehr and Kevin Donhauser rounded out the top five feature finishers. Devendorf took the top spot away from Dan Williams on lap-18 and never gave it back.

Chuck Powelczyk won his seventh 15-lap Four Cylinder Super Stock feature race last Friday night as well as his third track title at the D-shaped DIRT Demon. Joey Delacruz, Rich Murtaugh, Claude Hutchings Jr. and Glen Erwin rounded out the top five feature finishers. Powelczyk took the lead away from Murtaugh on lap five and never lost it.

Chad Guthrie won yet another 25-lap Four Cylinder Enduro feature race last Friday night. Chad Dupra, Jerry Curcie Jr., Mark Johnston and Morris Matthews completed the top five feature finishers. Guthrie made the winning move past Dupra on lap-23.
