Boyd Battles from Back of Field to Finish Sixth

Bradenton, FL -- May 8, 2004 -- The Boyd MotorSports Team made it's return to the "South's Fastest Short Track" in Bradenton, FL for the 5th race in the All American Challenge Series at Desoto Speedway.

Joe qualified the West Coast Fence of Tampa Chevrolet in the 20th position in the 28 car field. Joe worked his way through traffic and cautions to the 15th spot when he made contact with another car, sending Joe to the rear of the field on the restart. A cool head and smart driving quickly brought Boyd back through the field where he found himself in 10th spot on lap 110.

With only 15 laps in the race, Boyd stepped up into the outside groove and passed 4 more cars to finish in the 6th spot. "We were just a tick off" said Boyd. "A couple of small adjustments and we will be right there."

The next race for the Boyd MotorSports Team will be on May 29th at Desoto Super Speedway in Bradenton, FL.
