Bobby Turner produces first win of the season.
Georgia driver staying consistent in Regional Dirt Late Model action.
(Canton, GA - June 20, 2002) Bobby Turner has been a tear of consistency throughout the dirt ovals in Georgia over the past month by posting a string of top-5 and top-10 finishes along with a feature win. Turner's latest outing in his #31 Millwood Plumbing/JP Drilling sponsored machine produced a 2nd place finish at Dixie Speedway (June 15).
Bobby scored his first win of the season at Sugar Creek Speedway in Blue Ridge, GA for a Memorial Day special event. Turner set fast time, set on the pole, and led all 40 laps to bring home his first win of the season."We were quick off the start, and the car stayed hooked up all day," comments Turner."I knew we had a win coming after several second place finishes so far this season." Turner has also recorded consecutive back-to back 3rd place finishes at North Georgia Speedway and another 3rd place finish at Stateline Speedway in Ringgold, GA thus far this season.
Turner will be primarily competing at Dixie Speedway this season as well as select events at North Georgia Speedway and Sugar Creek Speedway. In six events at Dixie Speedway in the 2002 season, Bobby has set fast time twice, with 3 top-5, and 4 top-10 finishes. Turner, defending Dixie Speedway track champion is currently 3rd in track championship points at Dixie Speedway.
