Saturday's races at Berlin cancelled due to weather conditions.
MARNE, MI -- Tonight's season opening races at Berlin Raceway have been cancelled due to weather conditions. Freezing temperatures and steady rain are expected beginning this afternoon.
Because of the cancellation, the 2002 season will be extended by one week. Track officials have activated a reserved rain date of September 21 to make up for the race events lost tonight.
Fans who hold tickets to tonight's race can exchange those tickets at the Berlin Raceway Box Office for tickets of the same value to any other weekly race this season. Tickets may also be used to upgrade to a higher priced ticket for specialty races. Tickets can be exchanged at any time during regular box office hours - they do not need to be exchanged today. Ticket office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the end of the race on racedays.
Complete rainout policy details are listed at www.berlinraceway.com.
The next race is scheduled for Saturday, May 4. Gates open at 11 a.m. and the first race begins at 7 p.m. Sportsman, Super Stock and Late Model divisions will run. Tickets are $11 in advance or $12 on the day of the race. Pit passes are $25. Children 3-12 are half price and children 2 and under are free.
