Auburndale, FL -— VonPope took command of the 25 lap Limited Late Model feature just three laps from the end and motored to the win over Brian Storer. Storer, who took the lead on the start after starting on the outside of the front row paced Jimmy Castleberry, Richard Elkins Jr. and Ollie Harbin as Pope was working his way through traffic. Pope used the outside groove to gain second from Castleberry when the two ran up on lapped traffic. At the finish it was Pope, Storer, Castleberry, Elkins and Harbin.
Steve Treager used the front row starting spot to his advantage as he went on to the victory in the 20 lap Dwarf Car feature. Chasing Treager to the checkers were Jack Terpening, Dick Lawrence, Paul Hunsburger and Bill Burback.
Following back to back heat race wins, Travis Roland scored the win in the 25 lap Street Stock feature. Ron Lofquist moved his lonesome Ford to second after starting midway in the pack. Jason Bennett held off Westley Bass for third and Robert Gullett completed the top five.
Lee Davis walked away with the Modified Mini Stock feature by a nearly straight-away advantage over Donnie Ezell. Ezell and his Grocery Getter Wagon held off the charging Bob and Randy Storer for second and Jason Rendell brought the Mazda home in fifth.
After several attempts to get the 15 lap 4 Cylinder Pure Stock feature underway, Scott Taylor marched his way through the field to claim the win followed by Randy King and Jim West. Bob Gorsuch did likewise in the V8 Pure Stock feature besting Donnie Harp and Willie Lacey.
Racing continues this coming Saturday night June the 13th when the Pro Figure Eight cars join the regular lineup of Late Model, Street Stock, Modified Mini Stock, V8 Pure Stock and 4 Cylinder Pure Stock divisions.
A pit stop competition is scheduled for Fathers Day weekend along with all regular divisions.
