ASA Late Model Series Announces Greater Television Coverage for the 2006 season.

Lexington, Michigan (02/25/2006): The ASA Late Model Series has announced a new television package for the upcoming 2006 ASALMS Challenge Division season!

The new agreement will showcase 11 ASA Late Model Series events on both the Men's Channel and iDrive Networks. The two Turner Media Group networks will air a combined 26 one-hour telecasts beginning in late September.

Ron Varney, President of the ASA Late Model Series, was presented with the opportunity to join the two networks, which provide a higher level of promotional attention and greater opportunities for sponsors and series competitors.

"We feel confident about this move to the Men's Channel and iDrive," said Ron Varney, ASALMS President. "The package from the Men's Channel and iDrive provides us a great deal of coverage and attention to our series."

"Instead of just a few airings with limited promotion, we now will have 26 shows plus a solid commitment from the networks to promote the series," Added Varney.

The new package will also include award-winning broadcaster Rick Benjamin, who has committed to be the lead commentator for the shows.

"I'm extremely pleased to be involved with this new project. I believe the ASALMS brand has tremendous value and that the ASA Late Model Series will provide some of the toughest short track racing action anywhere." Stated Benjamin. "I know the Men's Channel and iDrive viewers will be on the edge of their seats each week this fall."

Benjamin has broadcast major motorsports events from Daytona to Long Beach to LeMans, France. His credits include broadcasts of NASCAR Cup, Busch, Truck, and Grand National events. He is currently host and play by play broadcaster for the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford on CBS, NBC, and SPEED Channel.

The historical Music City (TN) Motorplex, on the grounds of the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, will serve as hosts for the 2006 ASALMS Challenge Division opener on Friday and Saturday March 17-18. For more on the newly announced ASALMS Television package visit www.asalatemodels.com
