Wade Nygaard prevailed over a field of 19 sprint cars last Saturday night as the Wissota Sprint Tour made their first ever visit to the Casino Speedway in Watertown, SD. The Fargo, ND native started on the pole after winning the Dash and led the entire 20 laps to take his first feature win of the season with the Wissota Sprints. Nygaard had just wrapped up his fourth consecutive NOSA championship the night before in Grand Forks, ND and picked up his second win of the weekend and 15th of the year.

Youngster Brandon Greene trailed Nygaard to the checkered flag for his best Wissota feature finish of the season and current Wissota point leader Jimmy Kouba rounded out the top 3 spots. Gary Walton and Boone Supernationals champion Donovan Peterson rounded out the top five spots. Heat races went to Nygaard, Dave Glennon, and Kouba.

The final race of the 2001 Wissota Sprint Tour will be next Saturday night at the Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, SD as part of the Wissota Western 100. For further information, contact Pat Willis at 763-441-2656.
