Johnson is All Star runner-up
9 October, 2003 - Throughout the 2003 All Star Circuit of Champions Series 26-Year-old Jason Johnson turned many heads on track towards runner-up in the Championship.
With the final event of the year cancelled last weekend due to the inclement weather Johnson was awarded second place behind Chad Kemenah who took out his second successive crown.
Johnson was sensational throughout the year capturing as many A-Main victories as the Champion with five wins. His first victory of the year came as a part of the Florida Speedweek at Volusia Speedway with his final victory of the All Stars Series coming at the 81 Speedway in Witchita.
When speaking this morning on route for the 24-hour drive to the Texas Motor Speedway to finish the year with the World of Outlaws Series Johnson said "Second ain't bad. We had good pace all year, it was just a few misfortunes throughout the year that cost us a chance of taking the crown."
"We came together with a lap car on a couple of occasions when in a good position but hey that's life."
Johnson will now finish the American Season with his Harrison Trucking team competing in 6 events of the O'Reilly World of Outlaws Championship throughout Texas before packing his bags to join with the Craft Disbury Racing team for his World Series Sprintcars Championship assault.
"I was speaking with Darren the other day and he tells me all is getting sorted. The cars are being bolted together and everything is looking to be on track for when I get down there," said Johnson.
Johnson will arrive in time for the opening event in the 2003/04 World Series Sprintcar Championship at Brisbane's Archerfield Speedway on November 15.
