It is that time of year again. The sprint cars will be roaring to life again in Central PA. I will be providing as much information as I can once again this season. Live T.V. comes to Williams Grove Speedway in 1996. The live broadcast of the Saturday, May 25 World of Outlaws event is the season's big news for Williams Grove Speedway. The Outlaws have scheduled three nationally televised races and we are looking forward to hosting the May event at the Grove. This increased television exposure is a major benefit plus for the sport of sprint car racing and the Williams Grove telecast is a major benefit to our regular Central Pa. competitors as well.
The 1996 season at the Grove begins on Sunday afternoon March 3. The sprint car opener is scheduled for a 2 pm starting time with gates opening at noon. Saturday, March 10 is another sprint program and the second of five consecutive Sunday afternoon events featuring a 2 pm starting time. Sunday, March 17 will bring the sportsman-modifieds to the Grove to join the sprint cars in the season's first two division program. The following week will see the debut of the Williams Grove Speedway 358 limited sprints as they join the big sprints for the first of a dozen appearances in 1996. Sunday afternoon racing will wind up on March 31 with the running of the prestigious Jack Gunn Memorial for sprint cars paying $ 5,000 to win.
Williams Grove Speedway racing fans will again be treated to an outstanding season of auto racing in 1996 featuring a great diversity of racing programs and divisions. The Grove will again host the premier event of Pennsylvania Speed Week. The Mitch Smith Memorial pays $ 10,000 to win on July 5 and is the fifth race of the Pa. Speed Week eight race series. The World of Outlaws bring the world's top sprint car drivers cast to challenge the Pa. Posse at Williams Grove on May 24 and 25, May 31, August 1 and 2 and the National Open on October 4 and 5. Reserved seat tickets for all World of Outlaws events are now on sale at the speedway office and can be purchased by calling the speedway using VISA or Mastercard or by mail. The sportsman-modifieds join the sprints for two programs, one in March and one in September. There will be a single appearances of the All-Star Sprints, URC Sprints, STARS Late Model and ARC Midgets. The Super Sportsman have five scheduled appearances and the 358 Sprints will have their own point standing at Williams Grove with a champion being crowned following the completion of the twelve 358 sprint events.
The 1996 schedule promises to provide another exciting season of auto racing action highlighted by the best weekly sprint car racing program anywhere. There are several different ticket programs available to guarantee that you do not miss one lap of excitement. there is a season pass for either general admission or pit area privileges. A general admission season pass holder will receive a general admission ticket for every racing program held at Williams Grove throughout the 1996 season. the cost is $ 325.00 for the entire year. The charge for a season pit pass is $ 425.00 and includes pit membership/registration fee. The popular Williams Grove bulk ticket sale program offers $ 10.00 tickets at a discount when purchased in amounts larger than five tickets. The $ 10.00 face value tickets are available for $ 9.50 when purchasing from 5 - 20 tickets and cost only $ 9.00 when purchased in lots over 20 tickets. Season reserved seat guarantee the holder the same reserve seat for every event at the Grove in 1996 for the low price of $ 35.00. The holder of the reserved seat has a guaranteed seat after purchasing a general admission ticket. The fee is $ 35.00 and assures the holder of a discounted pit area admission for every event. Anyone purchasing a membership prior to February 1 will receive two free $ 10.00 passes. There are a limited number of reserved parking spaces available at $ 75.00 for the year and also reserved camper parking spaces available at $ 75.00 for the year. Reserved camper parking spaces are located in the front parking lot for the May, August and October Outlaw weekends.
