O'Reilly USCS Founder and President Pete Walton Nominated For Hall of Fame 360 Sprint Car Promoter of The Year Award

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Founder and President Pete Walton has been nominated for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 360 Sprint Car Promoter of the Year Award. The winner of the award will be announced on Thursday night, December 9 during the North American Sprint Car Poll Awards Reception at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, IN.

Walton, a former winged outlaw sprint car driver, founded USCS in 1997 and through the years has brought a strong presence of sanctioned sprint car racing to the Southeastern United States. By 1999, Walton combined competition on both dirt and asphalt tracks, to make USCS the only winged outlaw sprint car series in the country to compete on both surfaces.

In preparing for its ninth season, USCS has grown to become one of the most sought after special shows by short track racing promoters in the South. Walton has provided an economic balance through USCS that gives competitors, promoters and fans an affordable special show.

For 2005, USCS is looking forward to its biggest season in its history. O'Reilly Auto Parts has signed on as the series' title sponsor, and Walton is expecting to sanction over 50 events at both dirt and asphalt short tracks in up to ten Southeastern states.

There are also two other awards O'Reilly USCS personnel have been nominated for at the North American Sprint Car Poll Awards Reception.

O'Reilly USCS drivers Kenny Adams and 2004 and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray have been nominated for the 360 Sprint Car Driver of the Year Award. Adams' Goodson Farms two-car team of himself and his 19-year-old stepson and crew chief Bryn Gohn have been nominated for the 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year.
