PEACH STATE DOUBLE HEADER ON TAP FOR O'REILLY USCS IN SWAINSBORO, GA ON APRIL 22 AND OGLETHORPE SPEEDWAY PARK ON APRIL 23
FAYETTEVILLE, GA - The O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour will present a Peach State double-header with events at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, GA on April 22, and at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA on April 23. The two races will also be the first for the O'Reilly USCS Southern Thunder regional tour.
The defending and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN will join the 2000 series national champion Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL, and 2004 O'Reilly USCS National Championship Runner-Up Danny Martin Jr. of Sarasota, FL as favorites for the two shows.
Gray finished no worse than second in two appearances last season at each track. The "Bartlett Bullet" posted a win and a second-place effort in two races last season at Oglethorpe Speedway Park, and had two second-place finishes at Swainsboro Raceway.
Adams had a win at each track last season for two of his 16 total victories in O'Reilly USCS 2004 competition, and "The Malabar Missile" also posted a second-place finish behind Gray at Oglethorpe on April 24, 2004. Adams' win at Swainsboro Raceway came on April 23, 2004, and the victory at Oglethorpe was turned in on July, 17, 2004.
Martin posted a win at Swainsboro Raceway on July 23, 2004 to follow-up a fifth-place effort at Swainsboro on April 23, 2004. The 19-year-old Martin, also known as "The Hammer", also finished fifth at Oglethorpe on April 24, 2004.
Another top contender with a collection of top five finishes last season at Swainsboro Raceway and Oglethorpe Speedway is Brice Wrenn of Lexington, SC. Wrenn finished third at Swainsboro on April 23, 2004, third at Oglethorpe on July 17, 2004, and fifth at Swainsboro on July 23, 2004.
Other top entrants driving their 1,300 pound 700 horsepower winged outlaw sprint cars include Ryan Myers of Eldorado, OH, Brian Thomas of Auburn, GA, Bobby Courtwright of Evans, GA, Matt Tiffany of Daytona Beach, FL, 2004 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN, and Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL.
The race will award both national points, and regional points for the new O'Reilly USCS Southern Thunder Tour for events held in Georgia, Florida, East Tennessee, and East Alabama.
