O'REILLY USCS OUTLAW THUNDER SET FOR WEST TENNESSEE WEEKEND

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - The O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour is set for a West Tennessee weekend of high-speed winged outlaw sprint car action. Drivers from eight states will invade the dirt track at Memphis Motorsports Park on Friday night, and then head east to Lexington, TN on Saturday night for the Tennessee State Championship Race at Thunder Ridge Speedway.

The O'Reilly USCS will make their first visits to each track, and both events will award National points, and points for the O'Reilly USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour regional series. Each event will see the 1,300 pound 700 horsepower winged outlaw sprint cars compete in heat races, B-Mains, and 30-lap A-Mains.

The 2000 O'Reilly USCS National Champion Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL heads the entry list as the current point leader in both the National and Mid-South Thunder Tours. Adams has posted 14 wins this season, and is the all-time O'Reilly USCS career winner with 89 wins. The "Malabar Missile" is also the winningest winged outlaw sprint car driver of the 21st Century with 129 wins since the 2000 season.

The race will also see the defending and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN competing in front of his hometown fans. Gray is currently third in the O'Reilly USCS National points chase with two wins on the season. The "Bartlett Bullet" has ten National championships on his resume and over 300 feature race wins.

Danny "The Hammer" Martin Jr. of Sarasota, FL will lead a strong contingent of drivers under the age of 20 called the SpeedMart Young Guns to West Tennessee this weekend. The 19-year-old driver is second in the O'Reilly USCS National points with two wins this season, and was the 2004 O'Reilly USCS National Championship Runner-Up.

Second-generation driver 19-year-old Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL is fourth in the series National points and leads the Robison Racing Products Rookie of the Year points. The stepson of Kenny Adams also has one win this season. Right behind Gohn in the National points is 16-year-old Rookie of the Year candidate Matt Tiffany of Daytona Beach, FL, who also has one win this season.

The 2004 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year 18-year-old R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN is also entered for this weekend's events. The "Decatur Raider" is currently sixth in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings.

The O'Reilly USCS National touring drivers always face tough competition from the drivers familiar to West Tennessee fans. Many of the top drivers in the area have been front runners this season competing in the O'Reilly USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour that is made up of events in West Tennessee, Mississippi, and West Alabama.

Another SpeedMart Young Gun, 17-year-old Ricky Stenhouse Jr. of Olive Branch, MS is just nine points behind Adams in the O'Reilly USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour point standings with three wins. Veteran Mike Ward of Memphis, TN is third in the O'Reilly USCS Mid-South points chase, also with three wins.

The 1999 O'Reilly USCS National Champion Marshall Skinner of West Memphis, AR is fifth in the Mid-South Thunder Tour points with one win this season. Other top drivers expected this weekend include SpeedMart Young Gun 15-year-old Hunter Schuerenberg of Sikeston, MO, and two-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Eddie Gallagher of Memphis, TN.
