FAYETTEVILLE, GA - United Sprint Car Series and County Line Raceway officials have announced the postponement of the USCS Sunbelt Tour event at the Elm City, NC track on June 5. The announcement was made due to economic circumstances severely effecting attendance for weekly racing at Eastern North Carolina tracks.

USCS officials and the management of County Line Raceway have agreed to try and reschedule the event later in the season.

"After talking several times over past weeks with the owners of County Line Raceway, we found that after taking the management of the facility back over after leasing it out for five seasons, they are in more of a fan and competitor rebuilding situation than they anticipated," USCS Founder and President Pete Walton said. "We both agreed that the best thing to do for now is to allow their weekly attendance to rebuild and try to replace this first of the two race dates scheduled at the track for this season, possibly in August."

Walton said the USCS Sunbelt Tour event scheduled for October 9 will remain in place on the schedule.

"We are certainly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause anyone," Walton said. "We wanted to notify all USCS fans and racers as quickly as possible."

The next event on the USCS Sunbelt Tour schedule will be at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC on June 12. That will be followed by a USCS Sunbelt Tour event on June 13 at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA. Both races will also carry National, Outlaw Thunder Dirt points.

The USCS Sunbelt Tour consists of 27 events out of the 50-race USCS National Schedule. The Sunbelt Tour competes on both dirt and asphalt tracks in Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.

Johnson of Wesley Chapel, FL. Six through tenth spots respectively belong to Bill Moore of Denver, NC, Chad Allum of Kannapolis, NC, Brice Wrenn of Lexington, SC, Brian Thomas of Auburn, GA, and Ben Basinger of Salisbury, NC.
