Adams And Martin Share O'Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder Point Lead

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL and Danny Martin Jr. of Sarasota, FL share the point lead in the O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Carolina Thunder Tour after the first two events held on April 15 at Riverside Speedway in Travelers Rest, SC and on April 16 at I-20 Speedway in Batesburg, SC.

Adams posted the win at Riverside Speedway and finished third at I-20 Speedway. Martin put together a pair of second-place finishes over the weekend for a total of 248 points. The next O'Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder Tour event will this Saturday night at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA, and the event will also pay competitors double show-up points.

The Savannah, GA event will also pay National and Southern Thunder Tour regional points. The O'Reilly Southern Thunder Tour will open its season on Friday night at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, GA.

One point behind Adams and Martin in the third spot is Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE, who won the I-20 race and finished fourth at Riverside. Michael will run a limited schedule, so look for the fourth-place driver, Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN to move up the list. Gray, the defending and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion, is only four points behind Adams and Martin.

Transplanted Californian Steve Osborne, who now resides in Sharpsburg, GA, holds down the fifth spot with 237 points, and Brice Wrenn of Lexington, SC is tied with Josh Weller of Mertztown, PA for sixth with 234 points. Johnny Bridges of Cherryville, NC is eighth with 233 points.

O'Reilly USCS National Championship contender Ryan Myers of Eldorado, OH is ninth in Carolina Thunder Tour points with 228, and Paul Sides of Memphis, TN round out the top ten with 226 points.

Just outside the top ten in the O'Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder Tour points are Stephen Darvalics of Venice, FL, and Bruce Cline of Apex, NC. Darvalics and Cline are tied for 11th, just one point behind Sides, and they are both competing for the O'Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder Tour Rookie of the Year honors.

Among the drivers looking to race their way into the top ten of the O'Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder Tour points this Saturday night at OSP are 2004 O'Reilly USCS Rookie of the Year R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN, Danny Mercy of Warrenton, NC, and Chad Allum of Kannapolis, NC.

Other drivers expected for the Swainsboro and Savannah O'Reilly USCS events are Josh Harris of Denton, NC, Ben Basinger of Granite Quarry, NC, Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL, Matt Tiffany of Daytona Beach, FL, Dustin Apple of Elon, NC, Erin Crocker of Huntersville, NC, Bobby Courtwright of Evans, GA, and the father-son team of Tom Winegardner Sr. and Jr. of Pierson, FL.
