GRANBY, CANADA 7/29/00 . . . . . . . .The list just continues to grow! Danny Massey of Mt. Laurel, NJ became URC's twelfth different winner in fifteen events presented so far on the year 2000 URC BAR'S Leaks Sprint Series. For Massey, his first career win had some international flavor after winning before a standing room only crowd last Friday night at the Granby Speedway in Canada.
A field of twenty-five URC sprint cars made the trip to Granby with heat race victories going to Chris Coyle, Justin Barger and Tim Higgins. In the twenty-five lap URC sprint feature, Todd Wise set the pace for the first five laps with Chris Coyle taking the lead on lap six. Coyle remained on top until lap nineteen with Greg Coverdale took command. By lap twenty-three, the youthful and very talented Massey regained the top spot.
The red flag was displayed on lap twenty-three for Becca Anderson of Houston, DE who took a violent flip in turn two. Anderson was transported to the hospital and it was reported that she had a bruised lung. She is expected to be released from the hospital by mid-day Sunday.
When the race resumed, Danny Massey was not to be denied his first career win as he flashed under the checker flag just ahead of Greg Coverdale, Chris Coyle, Kramer Williamson and Brian Seidel.

DRUMMONDVILLE, CANADA 7/30/00 . . . . . . . . Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA took the lead on lap nineteen of the twenty-five lap URC BAR'S Leaks Sprint Series feature event Saturday night at the Drummondville Speedway for the second night of two race URC Canadian Series. For Seidel, it was his second win of the season and fifth career win under the URC banner.
A field of twenty-five URC sprint cars took part in the program with heat race wins going to Fran Hogue, Bill Brian Jr. and Justin Barger. In the twenty-five lap feature, Dave Gable set the pace for the first three circuits driving the Pat and Cathy Palladino sprinter. On lap four, Bill Brian Jr. took the lead and held the top spot until lap eighteen when he lost a wheel and brought out the yellow flag. Brian, the URC point leader going into this event, was out of action for the balance of the event.
Brian Seidel who was running second at the time, inherited the lead and set the pace from lap nineteen to the checker flag. Greg Coverdale, who finished second on Friday night, was on a mission to win. Coverdale was fourth on lap ten, third by lap fifteen and was second with five laps to go.
Although Coverdale was all over Seidel in chase of the win, when the checker flag did fall, Seidel was home first for the win. Coverdale collected his second runner-up finish of the weekend with Scott Pursell third, Trevor Lewis fourth and Danny Massey fifth.

URC HEADS TO BIG DIAMOND AND DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL FOR SYRACUSE QUALIFIERS The URC sprint cars will be in action at the Big Diamond Raceway on Friday night, August 4 followed by a stop at the Delaware International Raceway on Saturday, August 5. Both events will be Syraucse Qualifiers for the October 7 running of the "Shoot Out on the Mile" at the Syrauce New York State Fairgrounds.
