Trail-Way Speedway presented the track championship and year-end awards Saturday night November 11th, at the New Oxford Social Club. A record setting four hundred people were on hand to witness the crowning of the Hoosier Tires 358 Sprints, Thundercars, Street Stocks, 270 & 600cc Micros, Starlite Stocks and Scramble car champions for the 2006 racing season.
The 2006 champions--Jeff Rohrbaugh (358 sprints), Mike Walls (Thundercars), Randy May (Street Stocks), Jacob Hartlaub (270 micros), Dwayne Gutshall (600 micros), Bernie Looney Sr. (Scrambles), Kyle Rohrbaugh (4 cylinder starlite), and Brad Shank (6 cylinder Starlite) were all in attendance to accept their year-end awards.
Trail-Way Speedway has also made several announcements to the fans and drivers for the 2007 racing season. The track has been re-clayed and there has been additional banking of several inches added to the speedway surface.
Concerning the Friday night shows, it will be mandatory that the 358 sprints run Hoosier tires all the way around. Also for the 358 sprint cars, Trail-Way will be bringing in new equipment to run in the track for the 2007 racing season. This change will be made so that the sprint cars do not have to come out and run in the track prior to hotlaps. There are a few Thundercar and Street Stock rule changes which can be viewed at www.trail-wayspeedway.com on Monday November 13th.
Saturday night changes are in the making for the 2007 racing season. The 1000cc micro sprints (www.sidewindersprints.com) are tentatively set to have 2 shows a month for the 2007 racing season. Communication concerning the sportsman tour is still in the works, and dates will be made available as soon as possible. The 270 and 600cc micro sprints will be back in action on Saturday nights along with the starlite stocks and scramble cars!
