HANOVER, PA, 4/16/04 -- In only his sophomore year, Steve Clabaugh claimed his first 358 sprint car feature win of the 2004 season. Clabaugh who started in the outside pole position admitted that if you start in the front you will probably end up in the front. Unfortunately, that is not exactly true. Defending track champion Brad McClelland led the first twelve laps only to come into the infield due to a flat tire. Clabaugh immediately picked up the lead and held the top position for the remainder of the race.
Mike Bittinger, who came from the eighth position, battled with Clabaugh in the early portion of the race but as Clabaugh improved through out the race, Bittinger fell into line and crossed the line third.
Dan Dietrich, last year's 358 Sring Srint Championship winner, finished the night in third.
Scott Tate who finished twenty-second in last week's race improved tremendously, remaining in the top five for most of the feature race. Tate finished in fourth followed by Jon Keller in the fifth position.
Brian Allman, Bob Howard, Rick Horn, Troy Becker and Kyle Bachman completed the top ten.
Heat winners were McClelland and Bittinger.
In thundercar feature action Craig Wagaman remained perfect as he picked up his second win of the 2004 season. Wagaman, who also won both heats, this week and last week, kept his record faultless as of the second week of thundercar racing.
Mike Walls, polesitter Jerry Bingaman, Bryan Wagaman, and John McDonough Jr. completed the top five.
Heat winners were Bobby Rudisill and Wagaman.
Jody Holston also picked up his first career win in the street stock 15 lap feature race. Holston grabbed the lead away from Len Yorty on the eleventh lap. Polesitter Dan Furman led the first four laps, later falling to the ninth position where he ended his night.
Chris Holston, Ted Forsythe, Robert Stough and Danny Beard completed the top five.
Heat winners were Ted Forsythe, Jody Holston, and Ron Myers Jr.
