FAYETTEVILLE, GA - While the United Sprint Car Series took the weekend off, the top three drivers in the National point standings took a busman's holiday with successful results. Point leader Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN, Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL, and Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE all took home wins over the weekend in non-sanctioned races.
Gray led wire-to-wire to win the sprint car feature race on Friday night at Memphis Motorsports Park in Memphis, TN. USCS National point leader Gray is the Defending and Three-time USCS Champion. Now with a win under his belt in 2004, Gray will look for his first 2004 USCS win of the season this coming weekend.
Adams was able to keep his winning streak alive with a sprint car win on Saturday night at Putnam County Speedway in Satsuma, FL. Adams, who is second in the USCS National points chase, will be looking for his third straight USCS win this Friday night.
The "Malabar Missile" won the last two USCS events in Travelers Rest, SC on April 2, and Batesburg, SC on April 3, and is the point leader for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Dirt Tour.
Michael took over the lead just before the halfway point, and raced on to pick up the sprint car win on Saturday night at New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, NJ. Michael is third in the USCS National point standings, and is second in the Outlaw Thunder points between Adams and Gray.
Gray, Adams and Michael take each other on in USCS Outlaw Thunder action this Friday night at Swainsboro Speedway in Swainsboro, GA and this Saturday night at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah, GA.
